Thank you for your experience with noise and attention. There are fascinating essays surfacing on the old economy (money) and the new economy (attention). Trying to understand political shifts? It's about attention. Trying to understand the online world and Substack? It's about attention, not fame or money. Trying to understand mental health? It's about where you put your attention and the time remaining in your one, precious life.

I really appreciate this thoughtful and very interesting observation, Georgia. You’ve broadened the application of attention for me. And it’s not a stretch to mention how popular meditation and mindfulness are today. And at their core, they are attention turned inward. Thank you!

SUPERIOR!!! Timely, concise, clear. A very welcome voice of reason and reassurance amidst the din of “fund me” and “I’m hiding behind my pay wall.”

And I hope your article inspires them to cultivate the art.

Thank you so much, Susan. I do hope it reminds readers that this age-old skill is still relevant.
