We disagree, but that’s fine. If you read the story you will find links to my evidence that there are science-based indicators beyond the clock. Thanks for reading.
The game sounds cool. What resonated most with me in the article I wrote about the clock is the fact that there are fact-driven, fairly objective resources that seem to say the same thing.
Not difficult for me--I've done research all my life, and it has figured into all of my writing from newspapers to ghostwriting and everything in between. I'm hyper-organized and fairly efficient. I find a thread, follow it until I'm satisfied and move to the next. Some of the research for this piece is drawn from previous work I've done, which happens pretty often. I'm enjoying this conversation.
The Doomsday Clock has been ticking in my ear since I was a kid. I've always understood its placement to be a considered-but-arbitrary decision by a group of scientists and intellectuals. It is a warning like a dream that your house is on fire, and you wake up and smell smoke. I used the Doomsday Clock as a mechanic in a game I designed in 2021 titled, "Legacies! A GGDM 'civilizational custodians' Game."
Me, too. So what are you writing right now?
I love to write
Hmmm--it went right over my head. Next time, I'll stand on a chair.
Sorry, Charles. I disagree. If you read the story, you will encounter my evidence, plainly linked.
BTW, Betteridge's Law of Headlines suggests the answer to the title of your article is "No." 😉

I was having some fun with the way you wrote the headline.
We learn a lot bout writing by reading. ;)

That's the scary part. Was it very difficult pulling all the research together for the article? I really liked your conversational voice.
